Paula graduated from the University of Birmingham in 1988 and spent her first 12 years in a busy family practice in Cradley Heath, she then joined Selly Park in 2001.
Tom graduated from the University of Central Lancashire in 2015 and has experience in general dentistry across the West Midlands since qualifying. Carl Horton is passionate about dentistry and has travelled the world sharing his knowledge and lecturing extensively on treatment models and his pioneering research.

Services
Digital radiographs are one of the newest x-ray techniques around. With digital radiographs, film is replaced with a flat electronic pad or sensor. The x-rays hit the pad the same way they hit the film. But instead of developing the film in a dark room, the image is electronically sent directly to a computer where the image appears on the screen.
Tooth whitening is an affordable way of brightening your smile. It can erase years of stain to your teeth caused by tobacco, food, beverages and internal pigments which make your teeth look darker as you age. Whitening will not change the shade of your crowns, veneers or fillings. We offer two types of whitening, in-surgery or take home.
We see a number of new patients to the practice who have had bad experiences previously. Our aim is to explain to the patients what we need to do and restore their confidence in dentistry. We believe the best way is through communication and slowly regaining confidence. Dentistry is achieved over a number of visits so patients get to know us, and we get to know our patients.

I submitted an appointment form via the website requesting an appointment for a teeth whitening. Got a rather rude response from 'Reception' stating word for word "Thanks for your email but we are not accepting any new patients at present. we are a private practice with no NHS regards reception" Their response was absolutely fine up until the word present!
What I do not understand is why 'reception' felt the need to go any further and say that they were a private practice with no NHS? I never mentioned NHS in my request for an appointment. Clearly if the NHS covered cosmetic dental treatments there would be no need to contact them! I found their response very rude! So the below response is supposedly from the owner who is trying to blame Covid for the rude email response from the Reception staff!
First of all, the entire country has been and is being effected by Covid! Secondly, you state that you are not allowed NHS due to regulations. I never asked for an appointment on the NHS so there was absolutely no reason to mention this in the initial response or below! Lastly, more importantly, you and your staff are unprofessional and rude! Bottom line. I am thankful I didnt get an appointment with you all. If you are this rude over email can only imagine what you would be in person!

I have visited many dental practices all over England, and I can honestly say this is by far the best dental practice I have visited. The staff are all very friendly, attentive and helpful. Furthermore, the dentist's are professional, and very skilled at what they do. Thank you Selly Park Dental Centre.

Very friendly and helpful! Before I went to Selly Park Dental Centre, I got a quote of 2000 from J D Dental Surgery (110 Raddlebarn Road) for many unnecessary treatment, and they said I need to pay 50 to get my own x-ray if I want to get a copy of it. I actually made a complaint afterwards and then 111 recommended me to try Selly Park Dental Centre. It was a really good experience. They fixed the problem of my tooth with much cheaper charge and also got my x-ray for me from J D Dental Surgery for free!
