Bow House Dental, Berkhamsted

Outrageous. Saw the dentist, got quoted £4,765 for dental work (not cosmetic - not major issues), was about to attend, but friend said that was punchy so went to another dental practice, and was quoted £600 for what I actually needed doing. SWEET JESUS, that’s over £4k difference.
Then there’s the stalker like behaviour of the practice; I came out of a work meeting to 7 missed calls and 2 voicemails. I didn’t recognise the number and just the area code and I had sheer panic one of my family was in hospital or something! Nope, just the dental clinic calling me to book in the appointments for the nearly £5k of unnecessary works! Then driving home on the same day, phone goes again, and it’s the actual dentist himself trying to pin me down for an appointment. I was like “I’m driving, I’m in the car, I don’t have my work calendar on me”, he kept going on and on to make an appointment, and so I did, all of this before 3pm on the same day.
Disgusting behaviour really, telling someone they need nearly 5 grands worth of work doing, and I only needed £600 of work doing and harassing me on calls, voicemail and email. Certainly not a centre of excellence and I shall be reporting them. Imagine if I was a little old lady pensioner with no money and got harassed into using savings or money I didn’t have for works I didn’t need by these grotesque people

Just Excellent! Fabulous support, always on hand to answer any questions. I did my research before choosing to go with Bow House Dental - Berkhamsted. From the first contact, they have been friendly and professional. Dr Pithwa really took the time to explain what the treatment plan would look like for my case. I would recommend to anyone looking to get invisible braces!

I cannot reccomend Bow House Dental practice enough! Not only are the team there so welcoming and just lovely in every way! But being a nervous patient and not visiting the dentist in quite some time after an awful experience had left me super scared of the prospect of even having someone look at my teeth let alone anything else. I can safely say I have never felt more at ease than in the very capable hands of my lovely dentist Ed Bottrill.

Its actually completely changed my mindset about going now and I always enjoy my trips to the dentist (I know that sounds crazy but it's true) I also travel over an hour to get there and I can tell you now its so so worth it! I have had some beautiful work done on my teeth by Edward over the years and it was worth every penny. My partner was so impressed he also uses Bow House as do my adult children. It's like anything in life you get what you pay for. Your teeth are with you for life, they can also make you look more youthful if you take care of them. Yes, it's true you probably could get the job done cheaper in other countries but what happens when things go wrong and you have to get a flight to see the same dentist in order to put it right?

Especially in the current climate with lockdown restrictions in place. I've never had a huge shock or surprise bill to pay all in one go, because at Bow House you are given a clear treatment plan estimate in advance and the payments are made after each stage is done, making things very affordable. Plus they offer finance plans that are interest free. Bow House isn't just any dental practice its THE dental practice in terms of cosmetic and other areas of dentistry. All of the staff are so friendly, and Richard on reception always makes you feel welcome. If you want the best use the best!

My husband and I are very pleased. We had our teeth whitened with the dentist and then went back to have treatments to improve our skin with the aesthetician. We had been recommended by a friend and Im pleased she did. Very professional, lots of advise and we both did not need as much treatment as we thought (at our age). The aesthetician explained how to improve our skin without overloading with lots of products or treatments. We have had coments from friends how good we look now, some of my husbands old acne scars are less visible, we are very happy and looking forward to the next time.

I cannot recommend Bow House highly enough. I moved to Cornwall a year ago and still travel the 350 miles back to Tring for my treatments! If you are looking for a high quality practice who are at the top of their game look no further. Edward and his team are friendly and professional, I trust them completely and wouldn't go elsewhere.

Over the last six months I have also extended this to the professional facial treatments with Helena. Helena explains all her treatments and has led me through a regime that has noticeably improved my skin texture and appearance enormously I can thoroughly recommend Bow House and all the staff, you will feel truly cared for during your visits from the moment you open the door! Appalled by this new addition to a dental and beauty practice that was amazing - False claims and history of new "aesthetician" Helena Tepper at Bowhouse Dental Bowhouse Dental used to be a totally professional practice, based close to my parents in Tring, and which we, as a family, regularly used to go to. Dental side of the firm, I have no complaints about, but the recent extension into spa, beauty, face lifts and Lipo treatments have left me utterly disappointed, following treatment, and upon some basic internet research, furious that the so called professional they have running this area - Helena Tepper - is not, as the Bowhouse website claims, in any way properly qualified, and not at all as experienced and "expert" as her quoted history claims.

The Bowhouse Dental website states: "Keeping up her passion for beauty, Helena has become a leading Skin and body Aesthetician with over 20 years' experience and the CIBTAC, IIHHT and BABTAC advanced aesthetician qualifications to her name. She has worked both nationally and internationally training doctors and experts in the analysis and treatment of the skin. Helena is fully qualified to carry out all our advanced body and facial procedures from the 3D Skin med and LIPO body treatments, HIFU face lifts, as well as treatments and products for the general health of the skin." I wasted more than 100 on terrible skin treatments, and rude, dismissive "therapy" by Ms Tepper herself, possibly the worst ever advertising for beauty once you meet her face to face, since she now looks nothing like her image on Bowhouse Dental.

I would imagine that retouched headshot is at least 20 years old. Her face today is not exactly an example anyone would use for glowing skin, peppered as it is with pock marks, blackheads and what I would guess is a poorly done recent face lift. Having checked with CIBTAC and BABTAC, two of the national bodies for beauty treatments, both confirmed upon my complaints, that Helena Tepper holds no "advanced aesthetics"" training or qualifications, but did earn basic-only beautician credits from MORE THAN 20 YEARS AGO!?!

They also confirmed that it was "extremely unlikely" that the Bowhouse Dental claim regarding Helena Tepper having worked "nationally and internationally training doctors and experts" was in any way correct. What doctor, after all, would need any training from an individual qualified only up to the level of applying lipstick and make up? I am taking their "extremely unlikely" as actual, outright lying by this woman.

I should, I admit, have taken more note of her half a lifetime ago team member photo, and questioned why all the other staff have photos of themselves clearly taken at the practice, in uniform, and during the last couple of years. None of the Bowhouse team have ever offended or under-delivered, and their pictures are not retouched, honest and recent. It's obvious to me, now, that the antique, retouched representation of Helen Tepper, may be dating back to her claimed discovery "by an agent at age 14".

Perhaps this deluded person is living in some kind of fantasy that bears as little resemblance to her real history, experience and qualifications as her team picture does to her face today. Disgusted. Michelle x

As a regular patient here I feel I have tested Edwards patience and Richards joy for life to the extreme! I no longer use my teeth as a can and bottle opener after replacing all my front upper and lower teeth with a superb bridge, caps and implant. I am very proud of my clean and natural looking pearly white teeth and only wish I had taken this step while I was younger. Always a positive experience at Bow House Dental clinic and the standards are extremely high.

I was very frightened of the dentist and was embarrassed about the state of my teeth. I took the plunge and visited Bow House and have not looked backed since. The practice is excellent with wonderful friendly staff who strive to put you at your ease and to make your treatment as comfortable as possible. State of the art equipment is used and the dentists will discuss the treatment required with you.

I now feel a lot happier when I visit Bow House and my teeth have never looked so good which in turn has boosted my confidence and I am always smiling. Thank you to the wonderful dentists and staff at Bow House.

This is a truly outstanding dentist! I had the bad luck to need emergency treatment for a very nasty abscess whilst visiting Berkhamsted recently. The Bay Tree made space for me almost immediately. The dentist himself was brilliant! Clearly very experienced, knowledgable and skilful, he talked me through my options in detail. I decided to have my tooth removed and the whole operation was conducted swiftly and virtually painlessly.

I was given antibiotics and detailed verbal and written information on aftercare. Other staff were friendly, professional and caring. The surgery was spotlessly clean. Fantastic service. Thank you.
